Leak Detector 200

The Leak Detector 200 measures by means of a measuring tip from a ceramic substrate. This electrochemical sensor is coated with a reactive element. The integrated heating element keeps the sensor during the whole measuring time at a high temperature. When a halogen-containing gas comes into contact with the hot surface of the sensor, chlorine, fluorine or bromine atoms are separated from the molecule and ionized, through which an electric current flows within the ceramic to the collector in the centre. The advantage of the sensor with its measuring methode is that similar reactions to CFCs ( R-11 and R-12), HCFCs (for example R-22 and R-123), haloalkanes (for instance R-134a) as well as to mixtures (for instance R-404A and R-410A) can be displayed. This makes the operation of the device very easy for the user, because no refrigerant preselection via selector switch has to be made. Also the automatic zero-balance is a helpful function because the device can be automatically adjusted to the contamination of environment and therefore vapours cannot distort the measuring, like is the case with plastics.
